Building Emissions Reduction Technical Advisor – City of Seattle (Strategic Advisor 1, Engineering and Plans Review, $48.19 - $72.23 Hourly)

Want to influence large commercial and multifamily buildings to reduce emissions, decarbonize and get to net-zero? Join a growing team to implement Seattle's new Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS) policy. This is an opportunity to do innovative work to combat the climate crisis. In this role, you will use your subject matter expertise in building electrification / decarbonization, knowledge of Seattle’s commercial and multifamily building market, and collaborative client- or customer- focused skills to frame the policy’s technical requirements, which will clarify the new legislation’s requirements for building owners and service providers (e.g., what the City will require in emissions reports and decarbonization plans). You’ll also develop technical content for tools and materials to help building owners and operators cut carbon emissions to meet the BEPS requirements and discuss compliance options with owners and service providers to reach net-zero over time.
